NOTTING HILL

Can celerity fall in Love with an ordinary guy? Is it possible? And if it happens then what all the consequences that may arise? This what Roger Michell has tried to show in his flick Notting Hill which is written by Richard Curtis. The movie has Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant in the lead. Julia plays the famous Hollywood actress, Anna Scoot who happens to drop in a book shop owned by William Thacker played by Hugh Grant in Notting Hill. While William was returning from the juice centre having juice, he happened to collide with Anna. Then he took her to her house nearby so that she can change her dress. To his surprise, Anna kisses Williams which she said as mutual attraction. Then the story moves further when Anna calls William again by the name of Flintstone while her stay in Ritz. They meet again and then fall in love.
Roger Michell has spread the magic once again in this film after Four Wedding and a Funeral. Although Notting Hill is a romantic-comedy, people will enjoy it. The character, Spike played by Rhys Ifans will make people laugh. He’s done a great job. The movie is smooth and keeps you stick to the chair. The scene when Williams visits Anna at Ritz on her invitation without knowing that the press will be there to interview her for her new film Helix. His reaction to that situation is well covered and well acted by Hugh. At one place, Anna was invited by Williams to her sister’s birthday party. There they discuss about their life and everyone thought that Anna is happy with her life. But then she tells the truth of the actress life. Everyone was shocked to see Anna at their home. And their reaction was really good. Then Anna and Williams came closer and at this time enters the Anna’s boyfriend, Jeff King, a cameo played by Alec Baldwin. The movie has many ups and downs making it a real rather than reel.
All ups and downs are very well handled by the director and the actors. Julia is really good looking and her acting is really outstanding. She has portrait the Anna Scott very well. All emotions of an actress and her reactions on certain things are real. Seems she has emoted her emotions through Anna Scott. Hugh Grant as an ordinary guy who owns a book shop Williams Thacker, who falls in love with a celebrity and then how he reacts on situations seems real. The script of the film and the humorous parts added by Rhys Ifans as Spike is good. One will enjoy the movie because of its good cast, good acting, script and direction. Go watch and see what happens when Celerity falls in love with an Ordinary person.
